We always thought that our headphones were missing a little bit of pizzazz. Evidently, a sentiment shared by Dolce & Gabbana, as proved by this season’s wonderfully ostentatious collaboration with luxury headphone brand Frends. Other incarnations incorporated giant fur trims, but we think the crown version commands the kind of attention we’re after. Running on the treadmill will never be the same again.
Absolutely nothing that comes out of Miuccia Prada’s atelier is without some kind of intelligent underpinning. The queen of sassy subversion, she creates clothes that nod to political rhetoric and overflow with philosophical meaning – all with a cerebral message attached. But that’s not why we like this little fur jacket from her Resort collection. We like it because it’s stamped with 60s-style retro rocket ships that make us smile. It’s practically a superhero cape, and in the trying month of January, we could all do with one of those.
Inspired by a powerful mix of animé and manga, Louis Vuitton’s S/S16 comic-book accessories pack as much of a punch as the cyber girl gang that carried them down the catwalk.
